Pro Agreement

This Pro Agreement ("Agreement") is between you ("Hero," "you") and ChoreHero ("ChoreHero," "we"). It applies in addition to our Terms of Service. By completing Hero onboarding, you agree to it.

1. You Are an Independent Contractor

You are an independent contractor running your own business — not an employee, agent, or partner of ChoreHero. Specifically:

• You decide which jobs to accept or decline.
• You set your own rates.
• You control how, when, and where you perform your work.
• You provide your own tools, supplies, and transportation.
• You may work for other platforms or clients, including competitors.
• ChoreHero does not supervise, direct, or control the manner of your work.

ChoreHero provides the marketplace, payment processing, and customer connections. We do not provide employment, benefits, or worker's compensation.

2. Your Taxes Are Yours

You are responsible for all taxes on your earnings, including self-employment tax. ChoreHero does not withhold taxes. Where required by law, we (through our payment processor) will issue a 1099-NEC reporting your earnings. You're responsible for completing tax forms (such as a W-9) when requested, and payouts may be held until you do.

3. Verification

Before you can accept bookings, you must complete identity verification through our partners (Stripe). Some service categories additionally require a background check (through Checkr) and/or proof of active insurance with a minimum coverage amount before you can offer them — each service's requirements are shown in the app. A one-time verification fee applies, refundable after you complete the number of jobs stated at sign-up. Verification is required to keep Customers safe and to keep your verified status.

4. How You Get Paid

You set the price for your services. Customers pay that price (plus any applicable tax) through ChoreHero. ChoreHero deducts a flat 15% commission from your earnings on each completed booking — you keep 85%. There are no subscriptions, lead fees, or caps on the jobs you can take.

The commission rate is shown in the app and may change with notice. Your earnings are released after the Customer confirms the completed job (or it confirms automatically 24 hours after you mark it complete), on our payout schedule, via Stripe. Payouts are made to a Stripe connected account in your name; by accepting payouts you also agree to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement.

5. Your Conduct and Quality

You agree to perform services professionally, safely, and as described in your quotes. You agree to follow our Community Guidelines, show up on time, communicate through the app, and treat Customers and their homes with respect. Repeated cancellations, no-shows, or quality complaints may affect your standing, ranking, or access to the platform.

Missing a confirmed booking without notice lowers your reliability score, which affects the "Reliable" badge Customers see on your profile. If you believe a no-show was flagged in error, you can contest it from your dashboard and we will review it.

6. Staying On-Platform

All bookings, communication, and payments must happen on ChoreHero. Soliciting Customers to transact off-platform to avoid commission is a serious violation and may result in removal.

7. Insurance and Liability

You are responsible for your own conduct and work. You agree to indemnify and hold ChoreHero harmless from claims arising out of the services you provide. Some service categories require you to carry active insurance with a minimum coverage amount before you can offer them; each service's requirement is shown in the app. [Details of any ChoreHero-provided coverage to be finalized with counsel and your insurance provider.]

8. Your Content

You grant ChoreHero a license to display your profile, video quotes, and related content to operate and promote the Service, as described in the Terms of Service. You confirm you have the rights to anything you upload.

9. Ending the Relationship

You may stop using ChoreHero at any time. ChoreHero may suspend or remove your access for violations of this Agreement, the Terms, or our Community Guidelines, or to protect users. Outstanding earnings for completed jobs will be paid according to our normal schedule.

10. Changes

We may update this Agreement. The current version is always in the app with its version number and effective date. Material changes will be communicated to you.
